KU awards its Brilliant Scientists, Teachers

The University of Kashmir on Saturday awarded its super scientists and instructors for their fantastic achievements and contributions in the areas of instructing and research.


Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan introduced the awards in three categories, viz. Outstanding Scientists, Prestigious Awardees and Best Teachers, at a specific felicitation ceremony.

The awardees in the Outstanding Scientists class are the varsity’s instructors who have these days figured in the lookup database of the Stanford University that ranks the pinnacle two percentage of scientists worldwide. In the Best Teacher category, the awards have been introduced to Prof Manzoor A Shah, Department of Botany; Prof Bashir A Ganai, Centre of Research for Development (CORD) and Dr Javaid Ahmad Sheikh, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Technology. Dr Shafqat Altaf, Department of Kashmiri, used to be awarded in the class for ‘Prestigious Awardees’.
